1 On 22nd June,
2009 the faculty development committee organized an Induction for
the staff members of the college where all the staff members came to
the stage and introduced themselves department wise. This was
followed by an Orientation on the vision, mission and quality policy
of the college. Then the presentation explained the difference
between the ISO and NAAC practices.

On 12th September, 2009 there was a Faculty development
Programme on Role of a Teacher in Total Quality management. Fr. Paul
who is presently the Director of the Amala cancer hospital in
Trichur, Kerala was the resource person. He discussed the role of a
teacher in today’s market based economy and how a teacher has to be
a performer all the time. He emphasized that a teacher’s main role
is to prepare students to succeed but simultaneously by showing him
a true picture, preparing him to face the failures in life. He
simply mentioned that a teacher should look for the holistic
development of the student and is remembered by the student for the
extra effort and providing campus experience.
3 As per the recommendations
of the internal audit team of the college a workshop was planned and
organized on Maintaining Effective Financial Records by Departments,
Clubs, Committees, Associations and Cells on 22nd
September,2009. The resource person was Mr. Gaurav Vora, Assistant
Professor from the department of Commerce.
4 A workshop on Accent
Neutralization was conducted by Mr. Paresh Joshi at Station E,
Rajkot. The staff members were divided into two batches by the
trainer based on their accents while speaking English. There was a
short video clip of successful people and it said that they
practiced everyday. With this ice breaker the session started on a
positive note. There was a presentation which included Stages in
Accent Neutralization, Speech Mechanism and Syllable Stress. Finally
a practice was given on 100 words which are commonly spoken with the
local accent and which could be neutralized through practice and its
regular use.
